Home loan repayment options

As a home loan customer, we may be able to offer you a range of options if you are having difficulties with your repayments. Depending on your particular circumstances and the lending you have with us, options could include:  

  • Reviewing your loan to see whether another structure may work better for you. Depending on the option and the terms of your current lending, restructuring your loan may reduce your regular payments, although you may pay more over the life of the loan.   
  • Fixing your variable rate loan to give you payment consistency for a set term – you can work out your home loan payment amounts with our online calculator.  
  • If appropriate, extending the term of your loan, which will reduce the amount of your regular payments – although you may pay more over the life of the loan.

Financial hardship assistance

Hardship can affect you in many ways and is usually brought on by an unforeseen event. If any of the following situations apply to you or your partner, you might be eligible to make changes to your loan on hardship grounds.

  • Have you suffered an illness or injury that has or will affect your income?  
  • Have you lost your job or experienced a reduction in your income?  
  • Has a relationship breakdown made it difficult to meet your financial commitments?  
  • Have you had any other significant or unforeseen event affect your finances?

How to apply for hardship assistance 
  • Download the application form below and return it to us by email or at a TSB branch.  
  • Pick up a copy of the application form from your local TSB branch.  

One of our team will be in touch to work out the best options for your circumstances.  

You’ll need to let us know the cause of your hardship, why you can’t meet your responsibilities and how this assistance will help you.
