Set yourself up for the retirement you want

Can you afford to live the lifestyle you want when you retire? KiwiSaver can help set you up for a better retirement.

When you retire

There are a few options available for managing your money in retirement. You can:

Withdraw your balance

You can choose to withdraw your entire balance in one go. If you do this, your KiwiSaver account will be closed, and you won't be able to re-open it.

Keep your balance in your KiwiSaver account

If you don't need your money straight away, you can choose to keep it in your KiwiSaver account. You'll no longer be eligible for the Government's member tax credits and your employer can also choose to stop making contributions.

Set up a regular withdrawal1

Supplement your pension or any other retirement income sources with a regular withdrawal from your KiwiSaver account.

Make lump sum withdrawals at any time1

Keep your money working hard in your KiwiSaver account with the comfort of knowing you can access your funds at any time.
